We were on holiday in the area and Alice allowed us to visit on a day when the studio would normally be closed. The studio is an Aladdin's cave of rich colours and textures and it would be so easy to go on a crazy stash building sweep. The names of the yarns are delightful and evocative. We bought a pattern and two skeins of Yeavering Bell in " Sheep's Chomp" and I can't wait to get started knitting it up. But the very best element of the visit was meeting Alice and her animals and hearing her talk about her craft. A big "Thank you"

Family owned farm that cares about their product and their animals. We reserved a tour in advance even though our party was small. Getting to see the animals and the working elements of the farm was delightful. They happily answered all our questions (we had many) and even before we got to the shop it was a delightful experience. I recommend getting a car or a taxi to get there but we did it by public transit. The walk was a little long from the bus stop but totally doable if that's your thing. As we wrapped up they served tea and cake and then we bought tons of yarn! Great people and great experience.

I bought my wife a day session for her birthday. She's going in October, so nothing to say currently, except, first class experience with booking and follow up communications. She's looking forward to seeing you soon.

Alice, who runs Whistlebare, was really helpful because my friend and I could only visit on a Saturday so we contacted her and she opened up the studio especially (with no pressure to buy something). She has created a lovely Studio which is welcoming and homely. The wools are fantastic and it's really great to be able to buy something locally sourced. Very knowledgeable and helpful too about the complexity of certain patterns. I will definitely be buying further wool online and will visit again if I'm in the area. Definitely worth a visit. 🙂
